Officers are continuing their investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Ridgeland Street last night, Wednesday, November 12 at approximately 8:00 pm.
At the scene, officers located an 18-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was declared deceased.
According to statements, the man and two friends arrived at a residence on Ridgeland Street to purchase a firearm from a 16-year-old male. During the encounter, a physical altercation occurred between the man and the 16-year-old that escalated into gunfire.
Detectives have interviewed multiple individuals connected to the incident and are working closely with the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office for case review and potential charges.
This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department’s Detective Bureau. The Laramie County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the decedent at a later time.
