Cheyenne Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred early this morning in a Cheyenne neighborhood.

Adrian Maggos, 27 years old, from Cheyenne, was booked into the Laramie County Jail for attempted first-degree murder.

On April 30 at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 31-year-old man who was the victim of an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal dispute occurred outside of a residence, on the sidewalk. The argument escalated, and the victim was shot by Maggos, who then fled the area on foot.

Officers established a perimeter and began an extensive search. A K9 team assisted with tracking, drones were deployed for aerial support, and neighborhood surveillance footage was collected.

At approximately 9:26 a.m., the scene had been cleared, and East 3rd Avenue was reopened to traffic. Detectives continued conducting interviews, processing physical evidence, and following up on information from the public. The department would like to thank community members for their assistance - residents provided valuable tips and video footage that supported the investigation throughout the morning.

By early afternoon, detectives learned that Maggos had returned to the scene on 3rd Avenue and was planning to turn himself in. Members of the Crime Prevention Team and a U.S. Marshals Service Task Force Officer located Maggos at the residence and took him into custody without incident.

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and detectives do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Detective Bureau.
