Cheyenne Police Officers have arrested a Colorado man in connection with a burglary at a local car dealership late Wednesday night.

On November 5 at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to an alarm activation at Cowboy Dodge, located at 1121 East Lincolnway. Upon arrival, an officer contacted a masked man, identified as Damon Jones, 19, of Fort Collins, Colorado, inside the dealership’s lobby.

Investigators determined that Jones had thrown rocks at a glass door to gain access to the building. During a search, they found key fobs belonging to the dealership in his possession.

In a nearby parking lot, officers located a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Fort Collins. A key fob recovered from Jones unlocked the stolen car, where officers found drug paraphernalia and additional key fobs believed to be linked to another dealership.

Detectives believe the burglary may be connected to other incidents recently reported in Fort Collins. The Cheyenne Police Department is working closely with the Fort Collins Police Department on the investigation.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Jail for burglary, burglary from a motor vehicle, felony destruction of property, felony theft, interference, and felony possession of marijuana.
