A Cheyenne man has been arrested following an armed robbery that occurred this morning. No injuries were reported.
On Wednesday, September 3 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Cheyenne Police Officers were dispatched to a larceny with a knife at Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply located at 3773 East Lincolnway.
According to statements, a store employee noticed a man attempting to steal merchandise and stood near the exit door to prevent him from leaving. When confronted, a physical altercation between the employee and shoplifter began. During the altercation, the shoplifter pulled a knife out of his pocket, pointed it toward the employee, and ran out of the store. He then drove away in a silver Nissan.
Employees were able to document the suspect’s vehicle and provided officers with a photo of the license plate. The vehicle was traced to 30-year-old Trevor Cabrera.
Later that morning, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a traffic officer recognized the vehicle parked at Maverik gas station located at 3315 North College Drive. The officer activated his emergency lights and initiated a high-risk traffic stop, then took Cabrera into custody without incident.
Cabrera was transported to the Cheyenne Public Safety Center for questioning, then booked into the Laramie County Jail for aggravated robbery.
