Explorer Post 112
Who are the Explorers?
Explorer Post 112 is sponsored by the Cheyenne Police Department and focuses on Law Enforcement Careers. Post 112 is open to young men and women ages 14 (and completed the 8th grade) and not yet 21 years old with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of Law Enforcement.
Post 112 provides educational training programs on the purposes, mission, and objectives of law enforcement. The program provides career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation.

The Explorer Academy
The Explorer Academy is held once a year during the summer months. In the academy, explorers will learn the basics of law enforcement as well as the current techniques and procedures used in modern policing. This includes:
Criminal Law
Drill and Ceremony
Defensive Tactics
Radio Communication
Traffic Control
Building Clearing
Pistol and Rifle familiarization
Through fun and exciting “hands-on” career experiences, explorers will improve self-confidence and gain leadership experience.
