Chaplain Program

Chaplains

The CPD Chaplain Program was established to serve and support the CPD by providing resources for department sworn and civilian personnel, their families and members of the community we serve.  Chaplains are available to provide support when called upon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

CPD Chaplains must:

-          Be ordained or licensed by a recognized religious organization,

-          Provide an endorsement from their particular church group,

-          Submit to a comprehensive and thorough background investigation,

-          Complete an interview with the Lead Chaplain, and

-          Complete the CPD Citizens Police Academy;

-       Participate in initial and recurring chaplain training provided by The Wyoming Law Enforcement Chaplain’s Association and/or accredited national law enforcement chaplain organization (e.g. International Conference of Police Chaplains, American Police Chaplains Association, International Fellowship of Chaplains) and be approved and appointed by the Chief of Police.
